WHO WE ARE

The DNA Irrigation
Is a technology driven group bringing a long history of hands-on fruit farming and value adding technical innovation. The DNA Irrigation technical and innovative ability covers new developments from Industrial Design conception to final hard asset production and market availability.

The agricultural sector is now turning towards innovation and new technologies to limit losses and increase profit margins and in some cases, survive. This has been brought about partly by market forces and Government Legislation that is now seen by many as an added burden, pushing up production costs, limiting nutrient usage and limiting farm production.

There is a drive to conserve water, limit the use of nutrients and limit power consumption, DNA Irrigation brings the solution to these issues.
The DNA Irrigation Sub-Surface irrigation system and the DNA Irrigation Sub-Surface “deep root soil amendment / moisture retentive technology” bring significant water savings of 40+% compared to most other commonly used dripper or spray systems.

The DNA Irrigation answer to percolation in fully arid and partly-arid soils is especially valuable in high drought regions with poor soils as typically found in the Middle East and California.

The Wesson Family
Have been directly involved in the productive Ceres Valley fruit producing region for three generations, their association directly covers a close working relationship with the farming community. The family has hands-on knowledge of both fruit production for local markets and the global export of highly prized Ceres grown Apples and Pears, as such they are very much a part of the community.

Having completing his law studies, David’s eldest son Adrian is now employed in exporting Ceres Valley fruit to the Global markets.
Both David and Adrian have an in-depth working knowledge of fruit cultivation and irrigation requirements.

As Directors of DNA IRRIGATION, David and Adrian are closely associated with the general management of the company.

The original Wesson family business built a close working relationship with the farming community supplying all manner of tires for farm equipment, most importantly, the business is still very much part of the “valley community” and is run by David and his son Justin. David purchased a successful fruit farm in the valley in 2000 and after ten productive years he remarked “I was made an offer for the farm that I could not refuse”.  David retained a 13 hectare portion of the property at the foot of the mountain, this is “home” to his wife Arauna and their two sons, Adrian & Justin.

The Ceres valley is named after the “Goddess of Fruitfulness”.

Richard Clarke
For more than three decades, Richard Clarke has been employed in the development of various products and technologies, many of these have been protected by the international patenting umbrella covering a range of technologies that include dual temperature refrigerated trucking, refrigerated intermodal containers, palletisation, agriculture and other sectors, these products and technologies have one thing in common, they bring solutions to formally costly issues.

DNA Irrigation has an “Innovation Development Hub” where the work is performed as part of a team effort with individual members specializing in Engineering, Industrial Design and Business Management, generating unique solutions to common problems.

DNA Irrigation offers innovative sub-surface technologies that are both obvious in their simplicity yet cutting edge in practise, with more to come.

DNA Irrigation now offers deep soil amendment and moisture retentive technologies that are unique and value adding, these open new possibilities across the agricultural sector. This is especially valuable within poor fully arid and semi-arid soils where water retention and percolation issues are a major concern.
